Horn$leth's Closing Showcase: Deep Sea Storage Project

Horn$leth's Closing Showcase: Deep Sea Storage Project

On Saturday, the 11th of June,
starting at 6:30pm,
Horn$leth's
"4 Thursdays" exhibition at GGGallery comes to a close here at GGGallery
In celebration of the show's success we will be taking a
futuristic turn
as we are showcasing alongside new works
Horn$leth's :

Deep Sea Storage Project

Want to live forever? Somewhere that will be literally untouched by time?
Horn$leth's Deep Sea Storage Project is arguably the most unusual art project ever undertaken.

A beautiful 8x8x8 meter steel star sculpture containing your DNA from human blood and hair samples will be lowered into the Pacific Ocean, at one of the deepest spots in the Earth's ocean.

How will we have evolved? How will humans be different?
People are embracing the ideals of the The Deep Storage Project, and in doing so, they are becoming a voice to be heard in the future.

On June 11th, at GGGallery we will be exhibiting and contributing to the realization of this dream project of Horn$leth's.
On hand to collect samples of DNA from willing participants, we hope to add to the already prominent DNA supply that Horn$leth has already acquired, and expose the public to this alternate version of art.

In addition to collecting interested individuals DNA samples, GGGallery will be
for this one night only celebrating with
special offers on selected pieces in
honour of Horn$leth's successful show and his Deep Sea Storage Project.

Horn$leth Uganda Project Showcase!

Horn$leth Uganda Project Showcase!

On Thursday, the 19th of May, Horn$leth's
"4 Thursdays" exhibition at GGGallery
takes a controversial turn as we are showcasing his:

Uganda Village Project

A highly spoken about project that was Horn$leth's breakthrough exhibition in 2006, Horn$leth re-branded the poor village of Buteyongera in Uganda, Africa. Villagers were offered a pig or goat if they would also legally change their names to Horn$leth. They would, and they did.

The extravagant artist calls into question; "What is charity and what is free trade?" Hornsleth answered. "I give the animals to the poor people who need them. They drop their names. I give them a beautiful name and make art. It is basically free trade. You sell something to me, I buy something from you,"

The theme which caused outrage with Ugandan officials and sparked the critically acclaimed stage production "Kill Horn$leth," in Copenhagen is: "We want to help you, but we want to own you."
