Eve Wakeling

Background-

Eve grew up in a remote village on the Cornish coast. Mother was curator of an art gallery in Truro and father was a chartered Chemist.

She graduated from Penryn school age 16 and immediately got spotted by a London Model Agency. This lead to an advertising campaign shot by Helmet Newton in Monte Carlo and a keen interest in photography. After working in Milan and New York the party lifestyle began to get tired and it was time to fix up and get on the other side of the camera. After graduating from the London College of printing in 2004 she worked for various fashion magazines shooting editorial and also assisted pop artist Clive Barker. This sparked more of an interest in art photography and Eve is currently working in this field.

POP ART PORTRAITS (Colour)

This portrait project was a collaboration between myself (the artist) and pop art sculptor Clive Barker. The original pictures were “polaroids” taken by Barker in the 1960’s

OBSERVATIONS (Black and White)

These black and white images are a study on the relationship between sculpture and the human form. Static or moving, they are an acceptance of human irregularities.

Adversity reveals genius-prosperity hides it.
